The below samples are commonly used faux finishing techniques. The can be applied to a wide variety of subject matter. Colors and subtly are modified to meet the clients requirements. Distressing techniques are authentic ways to give a slightly weather-worn or distressed appearance to wood furniture, cabinets, etc. Patina is the look of copper or bronze that has been gently aged by exposure to the outside elements. A weathered crackle finish reproduces the look of old weathered and cracked paint. Rag rolling,"ragging" and Sponging are faux finish techniques used to create subtle or dramatic effects. Both techniques allow you to create a subtle material-like finish that changes the appearance of your entire room.
